About This Class

The basic shotgun course is divided into a classroom and range session. The classroom portion emphasizes firearm safety, fundamentals of marksmanship, reviews shotgun parts and function, cleaning and maintenance. During the classroom session, there is hands on training and practice of shooting fundamentals. Differences in shotgun ammunition, pump versus semi-automatic shotguns, and chokes will be discussed. This class is excellent for novices, those who have purchased their first shotgun, or experienced shooters who wish to review the basics.

Following mastery in the classroom, students will proceed to the live fire range to apply their newly acquired skills.

What Should I Bring?

The class fee includes the range use fee, hearing and eye protection, and targets. Students may elect to bring their own firearm and ammunition, but for safety, no live ammunition is permitted into the classroom. Gun rentals and ammunition are also available for a separate charge.
