The basic rifle course is divided into a classroom and range session. The classroom portion emphasizes firearm safety, fundamentals of marksmanship, reviews rifle parts and function, sighting in rifles, cleaning and maintenance with particular emphasis on the ar-15 platform. During the classroom session, there is hands on dry training and practice of shooting fundamentals.

 Following mastery in the classroom, students will proceed to the live fire range to apply their newly acquired skills. This class is excellent for novices, those who have purchased their first firearm, or experienced shooters who wish to review the basics.

The class fee includes the range use fee, hearing and eye protection, and targets. Students may elect to bring their own firearm and ammunition, but for safety, no live ammunition is permitted into the classroom. Gun rentals and ammunition are also available for a separate charge.
